Questions
What is the APPA scale?
APPA’s 5-level cleanliness scale is the facilities industry’s standard yardstick for appearance, from Level 1 (Orderly Spotlessness) to Level 5 (Unkempt Neglect). JanitorialChecklist scores every surface against written descriptors for that scale, so your audits are objective and defensible instead of a subjective walk-through opinion.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The 14-day free trial starts with just an email — no card required. You’ll only be asked for payment details if you choose to subscribe after the trial.
What counts as a seat?
One seat is one team member with their own login — owner, admin, inspector, or viewer all use a seat. Add or remove seats anytime from Settings → Billing, and you’re billed monthly for the seats that are active.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There’s no long-term contract. Cancel from Settings → Billing whenever you like, and you’ll keep access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Is my company’s data isolated from other companies?
Yes. Every company’s buildings, inspections, scores, and photos are enforced separately at the database level with Postgres row-level security, and photo evidence is stored in private storage — not publicly accessible.
Can my clients see the reports themselves?
Today, reports are delivered as print-ready pages or CSV exports that you share directly with your client. A client-facing portal, where clients log in to view their own reports, is on our roadmap.
